East Coast Angelina Cot Bed Review
Warranty: 6 Months from Date of Purchase
My Rating: 9 out of 10
This model of cot bed caught my eye as I was looking at lower priced products and decided to do an East Coast Angelina Cot Bed review as it has got too many excellent ratings to pass it up.
Looking at this cot bed you will notice it has the traditional stylings that have been popular for generations. It is plain and simple with an elegance that makes it very appealing. It’s simplicity means that it will fit to pretty much any style of décor that you have chosen for your babies room so you will not need to worry about redecorating, another expense that I’m sure you could do without.
This is another solid wood cot bed. It is made from solid pine and once assembled, has a very sturdy feel to it. Reassuring to know that it won’t cause any undue worry about falling apart after a short period of time, or if you decide to move it from one place to another. We all like the baby to be near us in our bedroom in their early months don’t we?
This model of cot bed is white, but if you want a different colour, there are more to choose from. If you prefer a dark colour, you could pick the Angelina Cot Bed Cocoa; if you prefer the more traditional natural colour, there is the Angelina Cot Bed Antique Pine and if you want to mix some colours they also do an Angelina Cot Bed White and Grey. I’m sure there is something in these choices that will suit your needs.
All the cot beds in this range have a beautiful finish, which makes them easy to wipe down, after all, there most definitely will be spills and dribble to clean on a regular basis.
The base dimensions are a standard size (140cm x 70cm), so you won’t have any problem finding one to fit. Like other cot beds, unfortunately this does not come with one supplied. If you need to know anything about buying a mattress, check out my guide here. One of the best selling mattresses for this cot bed can be found here.
As with all items bought for your baby, safety comes first. This cot bed meets the required standards for this country which are BSEN716 and BSEN8509. These standards are for testing and safety. Please click the links if you want to find out more.
This is a very important feature of any cot bed and if you have had a baby before you will know why. Bending over repeatedly to put your baby down or to lift your baby out can be very strenuous on your back. This model doesn’t have one base height, nor does it have two. It has THREE base heights. Mothers will know after carrying the little one for 9 months how this will be a huge benefit to the daily routine. Fathers, I can speak from experience that this helps us too, although we may not want to admit it, eh?
As you baby grows you can adjust the height to suit and never have to worry about undue backache.
Chew, chew and chew. All babies will develop teeth at some stage and sticking things into their mouths to chew on is what they’ll do. The Angelina Cot Bed comes with two curved fixed ends and two sides with fitted teething rails. You can then relax in the knowledge that if they stand and chew the rails, their little teeth and gums will not get damaged.
As your baby grows older and no longer needs to be in a cot, this cot bed converts quite easily into a junior bed. Each time you need to adjust it there are just four screws that need to be undone and can be converted in about 10 minutes or so.
Now that you have read all that information or are just scanning this review, here are the important product specifications for you to have a look at:
Product Dimensions When Assembled – 144 x 77 x 91 cm
Product Weight When Assembled – 18kg
Suitable for babies up until 3-5 years old
As with most furniture these days, this is a flat pack product so will require self-assembly. I would recommend that you have another person to assist you and to keep an eye on your baby. There are a total of 2 Allen screws and a tool to use and the instructions are easy to follow. Assembly should take no longer than an hour to complete.
This cot bed is deceptive. It has three base height positions and easily converts to a junior bed and you may think that as it is cheap compared to other models of this standard that it is of poor build quality. With a good quality finish and teething rails as standard, you couldn’t be more wrong. As it converts easily to a junior bed it will undoubtedly last you and you little ones for many, many years. No wonder it is one of the best sellers on the market today.
